AI, IIoT Partnership Adds New Options for Predictive Asset Maintenance
Predictive asset maintenance -- the ability of manufacturers, processing plants and other industrial environments to monitor the status of their equipment to prevent problems before they start -- is a relatively new movement that's been facilitated and accelerated by artificial intelligence (AI) and industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology.
This week, these factories and others in the IIoT space will get a new option. Israel-based Presenso has just announced that its machine learning solution for predictive asset maintenance has been chosen by manufacturing technology giant Siemens to be incorporated into that company's suite of Remote Diagnostic Services tools.
According to Presenso, as part of the partnership, its machine learning solution -- Auto ML to Big Data, an analytics platform used among other things to detect "subtle abnormal behavior patterns, indicative of evolving asset failure" -- is being deployed into Siemens Smart Field Sensors. This solution is currently in use by at least one oil and gas company, Presenso said.
"Presenso solution is available [now] for both OEMs which are now developing their Industry 4.0 offerings and to end users operating their own equipment," the company said in the announcement.
